S-E Lady Wolverines finish fifth in Lubbock

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity cross country team placed fifth in Lubbock on Saturday with 139 points. They were led by senior, Taytum Goodman, who placed first overall with a time of 12:05.

Hornets rally past Cowboys, 47-42

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team clipped the Plains Cowboys on Friday, 47-42, to close out the pre-district schedule. With the win, the Hornets enter the bye week with a mark of 3-2. The Hornets totaled 487 yards of offense, including 363 passing yards and 124 rushing yards.

The Littlefield Wildcat and Lady Cat cross country teams competed at the Springlake-Earth Junior High Cross Country Meet on Tuesday. The Lady Cats finished 4th as a team with 123 points.

Wildcats throttle Cubs on the road, 49-13

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team picked up a big win on the road Friday night, as they traveled to Brownfield, taking down the Cubs, 49-13. With the win, the Wildcats close out the pre-district schedule with a mark of 4-1.

Lady Cats drop district-opener to Liberty, 0-3

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team dropped their district-opener on the road on Saturday against Lubbock-Cooper Liberty, 0-3. With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 13-8 overall, 0-1 in district play.

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines junior high cross country team hosted a cross country meet last Tuesday. Maribel Villanueva finished ninth overall, clocking a time of 16:32, while Amethyst Huerta finished 13th overall with a time of 16:55.

Lady Cats cruise past Post, 3-0

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team cruised past the Post Lady Lopes on Tuesday, 3-0, at Wildcat Gym to close out the pre-district schedule. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 13-7 overall on the year.

Mustangs hold off Bovina, 26-20

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team held off the Bovina Mustangs on the road on Friday, 26-20, to improve to 3-1 overall on the season. The Mustangs totaled 368 yards of offense, including 327 rushing yards and 41 passing yards.
