Wildcats fall to Farwell in consolation game, 48-45

The Littlefield Wildcat’s varsity basketball team lost their final game on Saturday at the Farwell Invitational to the host team Steers, 48-45.

With the loss, the Wildcats finished the tournament 1-2, moving them to 10-2 overall on the season.

Farwell jumped out to a two-point lead, 14-12, through the end of the first quarter. Littlefield scored nine points in the second frame to make the score, 28-21, in favor of Farwell going into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, Littlefield outscored the Steers, 13-5, to take a one-point lead, 34-33, going into the final quarter of play, but in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats were outscored, 15-11, falling to the Steers, 48-45.

Kam McCarty led the team with 11 points, six rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block, while Omar Martinez tallied 11 points, five steals, three assists and one rebound, and MJ Randle contributed six points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Jeremiah Trevino contributed six points, nine rebounds and three assits, while Ja’Den Williams tallied four points and three rebounds, while Ryan Williams chipped in four points and two rebounds, and Sir Pratt tallied three points and five rebounds. Jayden Barrio finished with one rebound, one assist and one steal.
