U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director, Cary Hanlin, in Lamb County reminds foreign investors with an interest in agricultural land in the United States that they are required to report their land holdings and transactions to USDA.

Rainwater harvesting involves collecting and storing rainwater for later use. This can be achieved through various methods, including rooftop catchment systems. By capturing rainwater that would otherwise run off into storm drains, this practice not only conserves water but also reduces erosion and pollution into waterways particularly in areas prone to drought or water scarcity.

In preparation for Earth Day, which was Monday April 22, I thought I would get on my soapbox for this week’s newsletter. We have heard it time and time again: farmers and ranchers are the original conservationists.
