Wildcats drop heart-breaker at Coahoma, 71-70

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team lost a heart-breaker on Friday to Coahoma, 71-70, after a controversial call on the twopoint conversion.With the loss, the Wildcats boast an overall record of 4-2 heading into district play.

Lady Cats fall short against Shallowater, 1-3

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team fell at home on Tuesday in their home districtopener against the Shallowater Fillies, 1-3; 7-25, 25-22, 12-25, 8-25.With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 15-11 overall, 0-2 in district play.

Lady Cats fall in district-opener at Idalou, 1-3

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team opened district play on Saturday at Idalou, where they fell, 1-3; 26-24, 19-25, 17-25 and 21-25.With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 15-10 overall, 0-1 in district play.

Hornets shutout Cowboys, 40-0

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team closed out the predistrict schedule with a road victory over the Plains Cowboys, taking the contest, 40-0.With the win, the Hornets head into district play with a mark of 32 overall on the season.

Mustangs clip Longhorns, 28-21

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team closed out the pre-district schedule with a road victory over Vega, as they took down the Longhorns, 28-21.With the win, the Mustangs close out the first half of the season with a mark of 3-2 heading into District play.

Lady Wolverines finish 8th at Lfd. Invitational

Springlake-Earth’s cross country teams competed at the Littlefield Invitational last Saturday, where the Lady Wolverines finished eighth with 168 points.The Lady Wolverines were led by Maribel Villanueva, who finished 28th overall with a time of 14:24.18.

Olton XC teams compete in Littlefield

Olton’s cross country teams competed at the Littlefield Invitational last Saturday. The Mustangs were led by Harry Amador, who finished 11th overall with a time of 18:03.87. Casimiro Villareal finished 29th overall with a time of 20:24.12, while Manuel Marquez finished 38th with a time of 21:28.67.

Nettes finish 7th at Lfd. Invitational

Sudan’s cross country teams competed at the Littlefield Invitational last Saturday, where the Nettes finished seventh overall with 156 points.The Nettes were led by Aubrey Lopez, who finished 16th overall with a time of 14:06.93. Andrea Williams finished 24th overall, clocking a time of 14:18.
