Nettes can’t overcome early deficit against Farwell

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team fell to the Farwell Lady Blue on Tuesday, 75-35, in their second district game of the season.

With the loss, the Nettes fall to 14-9 overall, 1-1 in district play.

Farwell poured in 18 points in the opening quarter and they outscored Sudan, 20-14 in the second frame to take a, 38-19, lead into the locker room at halftime.

Sudan tallied nine points in the third quarter and seven points in the final frame, falling to Farwell, 75-35.

The Nettes were led by Haylee Toscano, who tallied 11 points, three steals, two assists and one rebound, while Erica Hererra chipped in seven points, seven rebounds and one assist, while Addison Cornelius contributed six points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal, and Lexi Jennings added six points and three rebounds.

Kalissa Harris contributed two points, while Kaileigh Greenwalt added two points and two rebounds, and Edette Herrera finished with one point, seven rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.

The Nettes tipped off against Bovina on Friday, January 10th, as district play continued. Results were not available at press time. They will continue district play on Tuesday with a road game against Olton.

Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
