Lamb County cities receive August Sales Tax revenue

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has released totals for fiscal 2020 state revenues, in addition to announcing monthly state revenues for August. The five Lamb County cities received a combined total of $154,054.56 for the August sales tax returns, which is compared with the $134,064.62 they received for the same period last year.

Lamb County residents who have not registered to vote in the 2020 general elections, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, now have time to be sure they are registered, if they are in doubt and intend to vote.

TPWD Pilot Program encourages Hunter mentorship

LUBBOCK — In an effort to promote the mentorship of new hunters in Texas, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s (TPWD) Panhandle Wildlife District has announced the “Mentor a New Hunter” pilot program in the region. Participants have an opportunity to gain invaluable field experience, be recognized by TPWD, along with the chance to win prizes from Cabela’s, First Lite Hunting Apparel and more.

Curry to join PCG Staff

Whitney Curry will join the Plains Cotton Growers staff as Director of Communications and Public Affairs effective September 15. Curry will fill the position vacated by Mary Jane Buerkle, who is leaving the organization to pursue family business interests in Haskell.

Master Marketer program begins this month; content offered online
