To all PCG Services subscribers,

We thank you for your continued interest in Plains Cotton Growers and the news articles we send your way. It has been my privilege to serve as editor and curator for almost ten years now.

I soon will be leaving the organization to work alongside my husband in our hometown pharmacy we recently purchased in Haskell. For the past four years, I have commuted weekly between Haskell and Lubbock and served as communications director for PCG on a part-time basis. I am grateful to have had this opportunity, especially after our initial move from Lubbock. However, this organization and our members deserve to have someone in Lubbock full-time.

I am excited to personally announce that Whitney Curry will become your editor and curator as of Tuesday, Sept. 15, along with assuming the role of Director of Communications and Public Affairs. Whitney comes from Plains Cotton Cooperative Association, where she has worked as a Cotton Services Specialist. Before her time at PCCA, Whitney spent almost five years at the Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council in Austin, where she was the Manager of Marketing and Communications. She earned a Master of Science in Agricultural Communications from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Services and Development with an emphasis in Extension and industry from Tarleton State University.

I will be staying on for awhile to help with the transition. Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you in any way going forward. My cell number is 806-470-3178 and my email is maryjane@haskelldrugstore.com. And if you’re ever passing through Haskell, Texas, come see us!

Thank you for your support of Plains Cotton Growers and have a wonderful weekend!

Mary Jane Buerkle, Editor
