Trunk or Treat at hosital to be drive-thru event

This year, because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Lamb Healthcare Center’s Annual Trunk or Treat will be a drive-through event, to promote a safe Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 6 p.m. on the hospital’s north (front) parking lot.

Governor Abbott Extends Statewide Disaster Declaration

On Sept. 7, Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation extending his Disaster Declaration for all Texas counties in response to COVID-19. Originally issued on March 13th, the Disaster Declaration provides the state a variety of resources to effectively serve Texans as the Lone Star State continues to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

ROTARY PRESIDENT’S RETIRING GAVEL PLAQUE--Retiring Rotary President, Mike DeLoach, was presented his Rotary Gavel Plaque during a “Return to Rotary” meeting of the club at noon Thursday. Making the presentation was Rotary’s new president, Jason Gunter, whose term began in July. TxDOT project replacing Hwy. 84 Crosso ossover signs

LUBBOCK – This week, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) started work on a $1.7 million project to replace small traffic signs at roadway crossovers across the Lubbock District. In Lamb County, the Highway 84 crossover at Highway 385 in Littlefield, is among the locations throughout the Lubbock District that are included in the safety project.

Sudan City Council sets Thursday meeting

A regular meeting of the governing board of the City of Sudan will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020, in the Sudan Community Center, 107 East First Avenue in Sudan, when they will be considering a 26-item agenda.
