MULESHOE –On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to close and make road repairs to US 70, from north of the railroad tracks to Birch Street, in the city of Muleshoe. The closure will allow the Bailey County Maintenance crew to make various road repairs and place a new road surface.

The work is expected to take approximately one week to complete with local streets having limited access to US 70, including E. and W. Ash Avenues.

• Westbound E. Ash Avenue will not have access to US 70. Drivers will need to take an alternate route around the work zone.

• Eastbound W. Ash Avenue traffic will have access to southbound US 70 only and will not have access to northbound US 70 or to continue through to E. Ash.

The work will also require a oneday road closure and detour around the work zone for northbound US 70. During this closure, drivers will be detoured around the work zone using Birch Avenue and Ithaca and Dallas Streets.

Motorists should expect delays throughout the duration of the work and are asked to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of the workers.
