Olton opens district play with over Owls

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity baseball team opened District play on Monday with a victory over Hale Center on the road, 15-3.

With the win, the Mustangs improve to 1-0 in district play on the season.

Logan Lassiter pitched two innings, earning four strike outs, while Alan Vasquez pitched three innings, giving up three runs and two walks, while earning three strike outs.

As a team at the plate, the Mustangs had 11 hits and three walks, while earning 10 RBI’s.

Cole Montgomery was 3-4 at the plate with three singles and two RBI’s, while Lassiter was 2-4 with two singles and a walk. Adolfo Garcia was 2-4 with two singles a walk and four RBI’s.
