Nettes throttle Bovina in Bi-district round, 95-26

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team cruised to a, 95-26, Bi-District victory over Bovina in Hereford on Monday evening in the Class 2A Basketball Play-offs.

With the win, the Nettes improve to 23-8 overall on the year.

Sudan jumped out to a, 16-10, in the first quarter, and erupted for 25 points in the second frame to take a, 41-18, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Nettes stayed hot in the second half, pouring in 27 points in the third quarter and 27 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 95-26.

Lockhart led the Nettes in scoring with 30 points, seven assists, three steals, two rebounds and one block, while Gracyn Shultz tallied 22 points, six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block. Blessy joined them in double-figures scoring with 11 points, to go along with two assists and two steals.

Braelyn Pointer tallied nine points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal, while Edette Herrera contributed five points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals, and Brianna Sanchez added five points and one steal. Kambry Tolbert contributed four points, five assists, four steals and three rebounds, while Elaine Martinez chipped in four points, six steals, five rebounds and two assists.

Melo Rodriguez tallied three points, two assists, two steals and one rebound, while Kaileigh Greenwalt chipped in two points and one steal, Arianna Sanchez added one assist and Garicyn Bigham finished with one rebound in the contest.

The Nettes will play in the 2A Area round of the play-offs on Thursday or Friday against the winner of Stratford and Quanah. Results were not available at press time. Details are TBA.
