LCEC scholarships offered to area seniors

High School Counselors at Amherst, Anton, Levelland, Littlefield, Olton, Sudan, Whiteface, and Whitharral, have received messages from the Lamb County Electric Cooperative’s Board of Directors, that they are pleased to announce that the Cooperative will be offering scholarships to Cooperative members’ graduating high school seniors, who are electing to attend a college or university in the state of Texas. No trade schools, etc.

Senior Citizens Center opening again for meals on Wednesday

The Lamb County Senior Citizens’ Center will re-open for noon lunches Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 211 Phelps Avenue in downtown Littlefield. Those attending are invited to take food in covered dishes, to share with others, or by a donation of $6 to the center.

In the blink of an eye the Men’s NCAA Basketball Tournament has its Final Four set with number one seed Gonzaga taking on six seed USC and number one seed Baylor taking on two seed Houston. The Sweet 16 took place this past Saturday with the Elite 8 going down on Monday and Tuesday.

"LET’S TACO 'BOUT IT” — A new business has been offering tacos in Littlefield a couple of months, and Elsa Arce-Bejil, the owner, shown in the truck’s door, is excited with the new venture. When this food truck is parked in the Los Nopales Mercado parking lot at 1012 W. Waylon Jennings Blvd., after 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays, street tacos, may be purchased, along with a Mexican Coke, if you want a drink, too. They only receive cash for the food. Sometines, they will serve special food items, when they are at Special Events with other businesses. The cause of a fire Friday evening, March 26, in the back yard of the home of Travis Payne at West 12th Street in Littlefield, has been undetermined, according to Fire Chief Jamie Grey.

Members of the Littlefield Rotary Club received information at its Thursday meeting, that is available through the Lamb Life Choices Pregnancy Center. The center has an office at the hospital (Lamb Healthcare Center), 1500 South Sunset Avenue in Littlefield.

‘Wild About Amherst’ theme for 40th Banquet
