TULIA TOURNAMENT CHAMPS - The Littlefield Lady Cats went 6-0 overall on the weekend at Tulia. They won their three pool games on Thursday and went 3-0 in Bracket play on Saturday to take the tournament Championship.

Lfd. City Council elects to propose No New Revenue Tax Rate

At the August 23, 2022 meeting, the Littlefield City Council elected to propose a No New Revenue Tax Rate. The Proposed Plan will reduce the Tax Rate of the City of Littlefield from $0.6884 per $100 valuation to $0.6255. This is a reduction of 6.29 cents in the City of Littlefield Tax Rate.

July unemployment rate reaches lowest reading since Feb. 2020

In July 2022, the Texas seasonally adjusted unemployment rate again reached its lowest reading since February 2020 at 4.0 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from June 2022. Texas added 72,800 total nonfarm jobs in July 2022. For the ninth consecutive month, the state set new employment highs as total nonfarm employment reached 13,513,100. Texas has added a total of 736,700 positions since July 2021.

Ronnie Martin, Dewayne Hayes split week one of football contest

The Lamb County Leader-News Football Contest is back, after wrapping up our first week of games this past weekend. Dewayne Hayes, Ronnie Martin, David Neinast and Trevor Williams all finished 15-5 this week, therefore our winners this week were decided by tie-breaker, which was the combined score between Monterey and Odessa; 81 points.
