Running 4 Heroes recognizes Sgt. Wilson

Levelland’s Sergeant Shawn Wilson received a $10,000 Injured First Responder grant by the Running 4 Heroes Inc. as the August 2022 recipient.3 During the shooting event on July 15, 2021, in Levelland, Sgt. Wilson was injured during the incident by incoming gunfire that has required Wilson to undergo several surgeries as he has continued to deal with mobility issues.

JAN SMITH WINS WEEK TWO OF THE FOOTBALL CONTEST

The Lamb County Leader-News Football Contest wrapped up its second week this past weekend, with 10 high school games and 10 collegiate football games. Jan Smith was the first place winner this week with a score of 17-3, followed in second place by Oscar Sanchez, who finished 16-4.

Governor Abbot, TxDOT announce record $85 billion 10-year Transportation Plan

LUBBOCK DISTRICT- Governor Greg Abbott today announced the adoption of the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 2023 Unified Transportation Program (UTP), advancing a record $85 billion, 10-year statewide roadway construction plan. The 2023 UTP reflects an unprecedented level of projected transportation funding dedicated to improving transportation safety, addressing congestion and rural connectivity, and preserving roadways for Texas drivers.
