Plains Cotton Growers Elect Officers

At the Plains Cotton Growers Board of Directors Meeting April 1, the organization conducted officer and executive committee elections. PCG board chairman Brent Nelson rotated off of the officer team, but will continue serving on the PCG PAC board as a trustee.

BURN BAN SUSPENDED

As of Wednesday, April 10, 2024, Lamb County Judge James DeLoach has suspended the Burn Ban.

However, he will reinstate the Burn Ban when the need conditions warrant.

Ed Dabrowski wins BBC, Hannah Conkin places 2nd

The Lamb County Leader-News’ Big Bracket Challenge came to an end this past weekend with the Final Four and National Championship Game. After points were tallied, Ed Dabrowski came away with 143 points to claim first place in this year’s challenge, edging out Hannah Conkin, who placed second with 141 points.

State Sales Tax Revenue Totaled $3.8 Billion in March

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.78 billion in March, 5.8 percent more than in March 2023. The majority of March sales tax revenue is based on sales made in February and remitted to the agency in March.
