The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team throttled the Groom Tigers on Tuesday, 71-43, to claim the Class 1A Region I Area Championship at Vega High School. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 16-3 overall on the season.

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team was very well represented in the District 4-lA Post-season honors. Head Coach Jeri Goodman was named Coach of the Year for the District, while junior, Sayler Beerwinkle, was the District’s MVP.

Wildcats fall to Childress in Area round, 34-29

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team lost a heartbreaker in the Class 3AArea round of the basketball play-offs on Tuesday, falling to Childress, 34-29, at Rip Griffin Center on the campus of LCU. With the loss, the Wildcats finish the season with a mark of 16-10 overall on the season.

Nettes slay Lady Lions, 71-37, for Area Trophy

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team cruised past the Ozone Lady Lions on Tuesday, 71-37, to claim the Class 2A Region I Area Championship at Big Spring High School. With the win, the Nettes improve to 16-12 overall.
