Wolverines clash with Rankin for early test

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team has a big test this week against Rankin at Borden County. Head Coach Israel DeLeon talked about their win over Whitharral, saying “I was happy with our effort, our kids played hard. We knew we had our hands full with their skill players.

OLTON GETS REDEMPTION IN, 38-26, WIN OVER SUDAN

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team got some redemption Friday night when they traveled to Sudan and knocked off the Hornets, 38-26, in their season-opener. The Mustangs improve to 1-0 on the season, while Sudan falls to 0-1.

The seasonal reserved Wildcat Football Tickets are on sale now through Tuesday, August 31st at the Central Administration Offices, 1207 East 14th Street. The office is open from 8 to 12 (noon), and again from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost for the package of five local home game tickets is $20.

Littlefield wins opener over Dimmitt, 45-6

The Jimmy Thomas era got off on the right foot on Friday night, as the Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team won their season-opener over Dimmitt on the road, 45-6. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 1-0 to start the season.

LADY CATS BEST ESTACADO IN STRAIGHT SETS, 3-0

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team took down the Estacado Lady Matadors on the road on Tuesday in straight sets, 3-0. With the win, the Lady Cats improved to 4-5 overall on the season.

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ and Wolverines competed at their first meet of the season this week when they ran at the West Texas A&M Twilight Run. The Lady Wolverines placed second overall behind Farwell.

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team fell to the Presidio Lady Devils on Saturday, 0-2, ending their day at the Littlefield Tournament. With the loss, the Lady Cats fall to 3-5 overall on the season.
