Hornets looking to get back on track against Farwell this week

The Sudan Hornets suffered a tough loss to Sundown last week. They look to try and get on track this week, as they go on the road for the first time this season to take on Farwell. With the loss, the Hornets are 0-2 overall on the season.

LITTLEFIELD HEAD COACH Jimmy Thomas and his wife, Kayla were special guests at the Rotary Club’s meeting Thursday, Aug. 26. He introduced himself for the program. Coach Thomas grew up at Fritch, and after High School, he joined the Navy during Desert Storm.

WILDCATS WIN SLUGFEST OVER DENVER CITY, 18-14

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team won a tough contest over the Denver City Mustangs on Friday night, 18-14, at Wildcat Stadium. With the win the Wildcats improve to 2-0 overall on the season.

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team won their season-opener on Friday, 72-48, over the Whitharral Panthers. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 1-0 overall on the season.

The Amherst Bulldogs’ varsity football team is coming off of a, 44-34, loss to the Lubbock Home School Titans in their season-opener, as they turn their attention to the Hart Longhorns. Head Coach Daniel Hinojosa talked about Fridays loss, saying, “The titans were good.
