SUDAN WINS OT THRILLER OVER ROPES EAGLES, 18-12

The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team picked up their first win of the season on Friday, as they traveled to Ropes and took down the Eagles in overtime, 18- 12. With the win, the Hornets improve to 1-7 overall, 1-1 in district play.

Mustang XC team places 13th at 2A Regional Meet

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity cross country team finished 13 th overall on Monday with 276 points at the Region 1-2A Regional Cross Country Meet, which was held at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock. Sophomore, Jacob Escobar, finished 22 nd overall, clocking a time of 19:40.

LADY CATS TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS AT FRIONA

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team took care of business in straight sets on Tuesday, on the road against the Friona Squaws. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 7-2 in district play.

S-E WOLVERINES 45 PETERSBURG, 92-43

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team pulled away from Petersburg late on Friday night to 45 the Buffaloes, 92-43, in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. With the win, the Wolverines improve to 6-1 overall, 2-0 in district play.

LADY CATS WIN BIG MATCH OVER FILLIES, 3-1

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team won a huge match in district play on Saturday when they took down the Denver City Fillies, 3-1, at Wildcat Gym. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 6-2 in district play.

Olton starts fast, finishes strong in, 37-6, victory over Boys Ranch

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity football team took down Boys Ranch at home on Friday, 37-6, to improve to 5-2 overall, 1-1 in district play. In the first quarter, Olton got the scoring started, as junior quarterback, Logan Lassiter, found junior receiver, Jake Soliz, for a 35-yard touchdown pass.

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity volleyball team swept the Lamesa Lady Tornadoes on Tuesday, 3-0, at Wildcat Gym. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to 5-2 in District Play. After falling into an, 0-1, hole to begin set one, the Lady Cats went on a, 3-0, scoring run to make the score, 3-1.

Sudan middle school XC teams compete at District

The Sudan Middle School Nettes and Hornets’ cross country teams competed at the District 5-2A Cross Country Meet on Monday at the Yoakum County Golf Course, where the Hornets places second with 54 points and the Nettes placed first with 19 points.

Lady Bulldogs sending one to Regional Meet

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity cross country team competed at the District 4-1A Cross Country Meet in Plainview on Tuesday. Sophomore, Dennys Reyes, qualified for Regionals on Tuesday, when she placed ninth overall with a time of 14:15.28.
