Wildcats fall to Lubbock christian, 8-3

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team dropped their first game of a double-header on Friday in tournament play to the Lubbock Christian Eagles, 8-3. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-1 in tournament play on the weekend.

Wildcats come up short against River Road, 8-7

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team came up short on Saturday, as they fell to River Road, 8-7, in their final tournament game of the weekend at Wildcat Field in Littlefield. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to, 1-3 in tournament play on the weekend.

Lady Cats clip Lady Eagles on the road, 4-2

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ came back on the road on Tuesday to take down the Roosevelt Lady Eagles, 4-2. With the win, the Lady Cats improve to, 3-2 overall on the season. After a scoreless first inning for both teams, the Lady Cats went three-up-and-three down in the top of the second inning.

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team topped the Slaton Tigers at home on Thursday afternoon, 15- 5, in their tournament- opener at Wildcat Field. CJ Anzley drew a lead- off walk for the Tigers in the top of the first inning, but John Bernal struck out looking for out number one.

The Amherst Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team had their season come to an end on Friday at Lubbock- Cooper High School, as they fell to the Jayton Jaybirds, 78-21, in the 1A Area round of the basketball play-offs.

Lfd. track teams compete in first meet of season

The Littlefield varsity track teams competed at the Mule Relays at Benny Douglas Stadium in Muleshoe on Friday with the Wildcats taking fourth place overall with 66 points and the Lady Cats finishing eighth with four points. This meet was running events only.
