Governor Abbott appoints new Secretary of State

Governor Greg Abbott accepted the resignation of Texas Secretary of State John Scott and announced his intent to appoint Senator Jane Nelson to fill the role as the 115th Secretary of State for Texas.

NRHC to Host 44th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch this weekend Dec. 9-10

Visitors will experience a frontier Christmas from 6:30-9 p.m. Dec. 9-10 when the National Ranching Heritage Center (NRHC) at Texas Tech University celebrates its 44th Annual Candlelight at the Ranch. The event is free to the public with a suggested minimum $5 donation per family.

Retirement reception for Judge Felix Klein set for Monday, Dec 12

The office of Judge Felix Klein will be having a retirement reception Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 700 W. 14th St. The reception will be to honor Judge Klein’s 28 years of service for the 154th Judicial District.
