Scared Heart Church KOC to host Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus Assembly 7882 of Sacred Heart Church in Littlefield, will be bring back its Friday Night Fish Fry on the next two Fridays The Fish Fry will be held on Friday evening, March 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Water leak repaired, water restored to town

Water leak 3-16-23 2:00 am On March 16th, in the early morning hours the City of Littlefield’s on-call serviceman received a low water alarm. The crew tried to isolate the big 12” trunk line here in town at Duggan and 4th Street.

Lamb County EC is a member of Golden Spread EC, a generation and transmission organization with a total of 16 member cooperatives. Golden Spread purchases and supplies power to Lamb County EC for its member-consumers and follows one of the seven Cooperative Principles, Concern for Community.
In 1992, the old movie theater, located next door to city hall, was purchased from the Coop Gin. Countless hours of labor by fire department volunteers converted the theater into the current Gene Campbell Fire Station. It was completed in 1993.

Amherst Chamber hosting 42nd C-CA Banquet, Tuesday

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will be hosting its 42nd annual Chamber Banquet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in the Amherst School Cafeteria. Amherst is celebrating 100 years, so the theme for this year’s banquet is “‘Amherst’, Texas Proud, 100 Years - 2023”.

Proof administrator Lynett Martinez began working at First Federal Bank in December. Martinez, a Senior Airman E4, is from Muleshoe and later moved to Littlefield after being honorably discharged from the US Air Force.

Sales Tax revenue for Feb. totaled $3.7 Billion

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.68 billion in February, 14.2 percent more than in February 2022. The majority of February sales tax revenue is based on sales made in January and remitted to the agency in February.

High Plains Water District is now enrolling producers to participate in its Irrigation Assessment Program for crops in 2023. Since 2013, cooperating producers have volunteered to have their center pivot or subsurface drip irrigation system evaluated by HPWD Field Technicians.
