Jett Patterson graduates from Abilene Christian University

Jett Patterson of Amherst graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Abilene Christian University. Patterson was among 833 students who received degrees at ACU’s May Commencement. Students whose GPAs are at least 3.6 graduate cum laude (with honor), 3.

Pep, Texas to Celebrate Centennial on Aug. 5

Pep Centennial to be celebrated on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church Hall of Pep, Texas. We are inviting everyone who has a connection to Pep. Come enjoy the day with family, friends and former classmates. The day will begin with a 10 a.m. mass.

Senior Citizens serve lunch on Wednesdays

The Lamb County Senior Citizens’ are back in business for Wednesday lunhes. On Wednesdays at noon, potluck meals are served, with members taking their favorite dish to share, or by paying a $6 lunch fee. The Center operates on donations of any amount.

Lfd. School Board to meet Thursday

The Littlefield Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet in Regular Session on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building.

Commissioners to meet Monday at 9 a.m.

A meeting of the Lamb County Commissioners’ Court will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2023, in the Lamb County Courthouse, where a 7 – item agenda will be considered for appropriate action. After the Call to order, the public may request to make a public comment on any of the agenda items.

City of Amherst seeks funding for Park Project

The City of Amherst is seeking help to fill a big hole at the city park. The existing park playground equipment was determined unsafe and had to be torn down leaving a marked absence of activity for the young people of Amherst.
