Commissioners to meet Friday

A meeting of the Lamb County Commissioners’ Court will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, in the Lamb County Courthouse, where a six—item agenda will be considered for appropriate action.After the Call to order, the public may request to make a public comment on any of the agenda items.

2023-2024 Littlefield High School Awards Ceremony

Littlefield High School held their 2023-2024 awards ceremony on May 14th at Wildcat Gymnasium.Kynzie Jordan led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the ceremony.

Jerry Yarbrough, Lamb County Treasurer Completes Leadership 254

AUSTIN — Jerry Yarbrough was one of 22 county officials who in April successfully completed Leadership 254, a 14-month program by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC) aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of county officials statewide.
AGTEXAS HONORED nine graduating high school seniors who have excelled in their 4-H clubs and FFA chapters, each with a $1,000 scholarship.Those scholarship recipients are Cole Hinds (Stratford FFA), Gage Whatley (Groom FFA), Molly Babcock (Groom FFA/Groom Town & Country), Jayci Nickels (Farwell FFA), Justin Hill (Moore County Community Club), Kade Lawrence (Canyon FFA/Randall County 4-H), Laynee Jennings (Sudan FFA), Payge Davina (Olton FFA), and Whitney Kennedy (Panhandle FFA/Carson County 4-H).

AgTexas Farm Credit awards $12,000 in local scholarships

On Tuesday evening, April 11, AgTexas Farm Credit Services brightened a lot of smiles by awarding $12,000 in scholarships at its ninth annual AgTexas Ag Youth Scholarship awards program at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Amarillo.

Littlefield Primary’s Bikes, Books and BBQ event took place on Thursday, May 9th, where guests got to ride bikes, shop for summer reading material at the Book Fair and they also got to enjoy burgers and hotdogs that were grilled by Mr. Vargas of Lowe’s.

Courtney Hartley was selected as Lamb Healthcare Center’s Employee of the Month for this month.Hartley works in Clinic Billing and has been with LHC for 2.5 years. Hartley said the thing she likes best about working at LHC is that she enjoys the atmosphere and her coworkers.

Stan Simonik recently published a devotional titled, “40 Sandwich-size Devotions, Food for the Journey” Simonik was a pastor in Taylor, Texas, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, before he retired and moved to Littlefield in 2016.
