2023-2024 Littlefield High School Awards Ceremony

Littlefield High School held their 2023-2024 awards ceremony on May 14th at Wildcat Gymnasium.

Kynzie Jordan led the Pledge of Allegiance to open the ceremony. Amber Hays introduced Gary Birkelbach and Eric Turpen, who presented the Lamar Achievement Award, which was presented this year to Superintendent Mike Read.

Hays, next, introduced Student Council President Kennadi Hanlin, who presented the Student Council Angel Award, which this year went to Bryan Allcorn.

Brent Green announced the students individual awards starting with the seniors, and was followed by the juniors, sophomores and freshmen.

Hays then announced the students who earned top 10% for each class.

The seniors who earned top 10%, were Kamryn Meiwes, Sam Hill, Amiah Elizondo, Avianna Mendoza, Gabe Montalvo, Kennadi Hanlin, Kynzie Jordan, Lindsay Coffman and Isaiah Rodriguez.

The juniors who earned top 10%, were Brinley Acevedo, Madison Brown, Devyn Crouch, Miriam Cueto, Monica Elizondo, Chip Green, Presley Haltom, Major McNeese and Marysa Saenz.

The sophomores who earned top 10%, were Payton Bussanmas, Tyson Carr, Caleb Caudillo, Madison Contreras, Sophie Garcia, Kevin Nachak, Bryndle Ray, Althea Reyna, Lyric Rios, Matthew Rios.

The freshman who earned top 10%, were Brianna Aleman, Jayden Barrio, Rhealee Golden, Boston Haltom, Ky Hays, Arlando Lewis, Maggie McNeese and Aryanna Ramirez.

Honor Graduates were honored next. To graduate with honors, students must complete five honors courses.

This year’s honor graduates were: Kamryn Meiwes, Sam Hill, Brittany Abeyta, Sarah Beller, Caytlin Black, Haylee Casas, Xavier Champion, Lindsay Coffman, Amiah Elizondo, Mackenzie Flores, Akia Galan, Taryn Golden, Diego Gonzales, Kennadi Hanlin, Ivan Hernandez, Kamryn Jimenez, Brady Jones, Kynzie Jordan, Danica Jouett, Micah Keeney, Oscar Lopez, Omar Martinez, Avianna Mendoza, Gabriel Montalvo, Yaretzi Pompa Gallegos, Morris Randle, Isaiah Rodriguez, Braedy Saenz and Chloe Sawyer.

Next, was the presentation of Honor Cords. These cords represent areas of success and were worn at graduation.

The first cord was presented by Jenna Ozbirn for Patient Care Technician/Phelbotomy Certification.

Recipients were: Brittany Abeyta, Akia Galan, Taryn Golden, Kamryn Jimenez, Danica Jouett and Yaretzi Pompa-Gallegos.

SPC awards a cord to all seniors that have completed 24 hours or more. The following seniors were recognized: Brittany Abeyta, Xavier Champion, Lindsay Coffman, Amiah Elizondo, Mackenzie Flores, Yaretzi Gallegos, Taryn Golden, Kennadi Hanlin, Sam Hill, Kamryn Jimenez, Brady Jones, Danica Jouett, Kamryn Meiwes, Avianna Mendoza, Gabriel Montalvo, Chloe Sawyer, Lauren Turpen, Caitlyn Black, Kynzie Jordan, Kaylee Soria and Haylee Casas.

Students who graduated from SPC on Friday, May 10th with their Associate Degree are Caytlin Black, Kynzie Jordan and Kaylee Soria.

Hays announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian. These students will receive a scholarship for full tuition and fees to South Plains College. Kamryn Meiwes was named Valedicitorian and will receive full tuition to any public univeristy in Texas for the 1st year. Sam Hill was named Salutatorian.

TAFE Teacher of the Year Award was presented to Matthew Rios Emma Robles. This year, the award went to Mallie Gonzales.

Coach Green presented the Class Favorite Awards starting with the freshmen.

Freshmen Class Favorites were Aron Cueto, Jaelyn Tijerina.

Sophomore Class Favorites were Darius Perez and Iris Hernandez.

Junior Class Favorites Eyen Cristan and Miriam Cueto.

Senior Class Favorites were Xavier Champion and Kennadi Hanlin.

The final award presented was the All Wildcat Boy and Girl Awards, which is voted on by the student body. This year, the awards went to Omar Martinez and Kennadi Hanlin.

Green introduced Sam Hill to come to the stage to give the Benediction.
