Bownds/sawyer punch ticket to regionals

Julie Bownds and Chloe Sawyer came into district as the #2 seed and played Brownfield in the first round, to which they won 6--2, 6-3. In the second round, they played #3 seed Lamesa in the semifinals, to which they won 6-2, 6-3.

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team got back in the win column on Tuesday evening, as they took down the Muleshoe Mules, 11-1, at Wildcat Field to sweep the season series.With the win, the Wildcats improve to 11-8 overall, 4-2 in district play.

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity softball team held off a late push from the Muleshoe Lady Mules on Tuesday to take their second meeting of district play at home, 5-4.With the win, the Lady Cats finish the regular season 14-6 overall, 4-4 in district play.

The Littlefield varsity track teams competed at the District 3--3A Track Meet at Musatng Stadium in Denver City last Thursday and Friday with the Wildcats placing second overall with 140 points and the Lady Cats placing fifth overall with 82 points.
