The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team had three athletes finish in double-figures scoring on Friday, as they took down the Silverton Owls at Canyon Randal’s “House of Doom” Gymnasium, 61-38, to claim the 1A Area Championship.

Mustangs take down Skyrockets, 71-54, for Area title

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team handled business against the Wellington, as they knocked the Skyrockets out of the play-offs with a, 71-54, victory at Levelland High School to claim the 2A Area Championship. With the win, the Mustangs are 31-3 overall on the season.

THIRD PLACE – The Littlefield Lady Cats’ varsity softball team took third place at the Tahoka Tournament this past weekend, behind three homeruns on the weekend: Cadence Sanchez (1), Katelyn Gau (1) and Natalia Sanchez(1).

The Wildcats lost a tough contest on the road on Monday to open the season, as they fell to Abernathy, 10-9. With the loss, they fall to 1-0 overall to begin the season.

The Olton Junior High seventh and eighth grade track teams competed at the Mule Relays at Benny Douglas Stadium in Muleshoe on Thursday. No hurdles or field events were completed due to weather. Individual results are as follows: 7 th Grade Girl’s 100-meter dash T-11 th Abril Vasquez 15.
