The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity football team bowed out of the play-offs in the Regional round, falling to #2 Borden County.
The Wolverines were well represented on the District two AllDistrict teams with junior, Evan DeLeon, winning Six-Man Player of the Year and Head Coach Israel DeLeon winning Six-Man Coach of the year.
Sophomore, Braxton Ethridge, brought home the Offensive MVP Award, while junior, Keshan Holmes, brought home the Defensive MVP Award.
DeLeon was a first Team-All-District selection as a quarterback, while sophomore, Roel Fuentes, was a first team All-District selection as a defensive lineman. Junior, Trace Goodman, was a first team All-District linebacker selection, while sophomore, Cain Tovar, was a first team All-District safety selection and Ethridge was a first team All-District utility player selection.
Second team All-District selections include; junior tightends, Timothy Tanaro and Dorian Samaron; wide receiver, Goodman; senior center, Cuyler Crum; sophomore spread center, Jerry Gallegos; full back, Fuentes and sophomore, defensive lineman, Dereck Rosalez.
Junior quarterback, Davey Crandall, earned honorable mention.
