Wolverines take down Cotton Center in season finale, 71-41

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team closed out their district schedule on Friday against Cotton Center, where they downed the Elk, 71-41.

With the victory, the Wolverines fall to 15-4 overall, 12-0 in district play.

Springlake-Earth jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter, pouring in 29 points. The Wolverines outscored the Elk, 10-9, in the second quarter to take a, 39-14, lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Wolverines netted 15 points, but Cotton Center tallied 20 points in the fourth quarter, as Springlake-Earth took the contest, 71-41.

The Wolverines will have a bye in the first round of the play-offs.
