Wolverines blast Lazbuddie, 91-35

The Springlake-Earth Wolverines’ varsity basketball team blasted the Lazbuddie Longhorns on Friday, 91-35.

With the win, the Wolverines improve to 10-3 overall, 7-0 in district play.

The Wolverines erupted out of the gates for 34 points in the first quarter and they outscored the Longhorns, 15-7, in the second frame to take a, 49-14, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Wolverines poured in 19 points in the third quarter and 23 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 91-35.

The Wolverines were led by junior, Evan DeLeon, who netted a game-high 35 points. He was joined in double-figures scoring by juniors, Keshan Holmes, Trace Goodman and Kaden Castillo, who finished with 15, 14 and 11 points, respectively.

JJ Jaramillo and Timothy Tanero each finished with five points, while Alex Alvarez and Daryl Castillo each finished with two points in the contest.

The Wolverines hosted Hart on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a road game against the Anton Bulldogs.

Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
