Wildcats take down lobos at home, 10-4

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity baseball team handed the Levelland Lobos a, 10- 4, loss at Wildcat Field on Tuesday afternoon in non- district play.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 5- 5 overall on the season.

The Lobos jumped in front, 1- 0, in the top of the first inning, but Littlefield answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to make the score, 2-1. The Wildcats would blank the Lobos over the next three innings, while adding one run in the bottom of the second and five runs in the bottom of the third, taking an, 8- 1, lead into the fifth inning.

Levelland would score a run in each of the last three innings, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficit, as Littlefield took the contest, 10-4.

Junior, Major McNeese, started on the mound for the Wildcats pitching 4.1 innings, giving up five walks, one hit and two runs, while earning six strikeouts. Junior, Chip Green closed out the game, pitching 2.2 innings, giving up three walks and two runs, while earning three strikeouts.

Adam MacDonald had a three RBI day with two hits including a double, while McNeese added two hits for two double and an RBI. Isaiah Rodriguez tallied three hits and an RBI, while Green added two hits and one RBI and Brenden Bowman and Markus Rosales each finished with one hit and one RBI.

The Wildcats were at Dimmitt on Saturday to take on the Bobcats. Results were not available at press time. They will be at home against Estacado on Tuesday to take on the Matadors.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
