WILDCATS OPEN SEASON WITH VICTORY OVER TAHOKA, 56-26

The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity basketball team opened their season on Friday with a home win over the Tahoka Bulldogs, 56-26.

With the win they improve to 1-0 overall on the season.

The Wildcats shutout the Bulldogs in the first frame, taking a, 13-0, lead into quarter number two. They outscored Tahoka, 15-8, in the second quarter to make the score, 28-8, going into the locker room at halftime.

The Wildcats came out in the second half and outscored the Bulldogs, 13-8, in the third quarter and 15-10, in the final frame to take their season-opener, 56-26.

They were led in scoring by seniors, Chris Brown and Tyree Jones, who finished with 17 and 11 points, respectively.

Senior, Jeremiah Salazar, netted nine points, while senior, Joseph Salinas, chipped in seven points, and junior, Ethan Garcia, contributed six points.

Junior, Jaron Cabello, tallied four points and junior, Jordan Trevino, finished with two points in the contest.

The Wildcats hosted the Andrews Mustangs on Monday. Results were not available at press time. The Wildcats traveled to Monahans on Tuesday to take on the Indians and they will be at Idalou on Dec. 1st as their season continues.

Tip-off for the Idalou game is scheduled for 8 p.m.
