The Littlefield Wildcats’ varsity football team dropped their Homecoming game to the Idalou Wildcats on Friday night, 35-6, for their third consecutive loss.

With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-3 overall on the season.

The Wildcats trailed Idalou, 35-0, heading into the final quarter of play.

On second and 10, senior quarterback, Blake Green, took it up the middle on a quarterback sneak, drawing an offsides penalty on Idalou. Junior, Jordan Trevino, picked up four yards on second down to bring up third and one.

On the third down play, Trevino was met by a wall of Idalou defenders for no gain on the play. Faced with a fourth and one on their own 44-yard line, the Wildcats had no choice but to go for it, and they were able to move the chains, as Trevino carried the ball for three yards.

Littlefield was set up with a first down at their own 47-yard line, as Trevino took the carry on the toss, but was dropped for a three-yard loss. On second and long, Green handed off to senior slotback, Joseph Salinas, on the sweep who took the ball into Idalou territory for a fresh set of downs for Littlefield.

Salinas took the carry again on first down and got the corner around the far side for a solid gain. A flag was thrown on the play for hands to the face on Idalou, moving the ball down to the Idalou six-yard line, setting up first and goal.

Sophomore tailback, Ty’Jae Chambers, picked up three yards on first down and Green picked up two more yards on second down to set up third and goal from the one-yard line.

Chambers was able to punch it in on the next play for the one-yard score to get the Wildcats on the board. The twopoint conversion pass by Green was dropped by senior, Juan Rios, in the endzone, leaving the score, 35-6.

Idalou took over at their own 27-yard line and was able to run out the remaining time on the clock to close out the game.
