The Sudan Hornets’ varsity football team was well-represented on the Dstrict 2-2A Division II AllDistrict teams.
“It was nice to see our kids well represented on the All-District Teams, especially the seniors who have poured so much time and energy into this program,” Head Coach John Cornelius said. “We also had some young guys get recognized, so the future is bright.”
Senior, Bode Box, was a first team All-District Utility Player selection.
Senior, Rustin Penrod, was a first team All-District running back selection, while senior, Callen Cannon, was selected to the All-District first team as a H-Back/Fullback/Tight end. Senior, Lane Wilson, was selected to the All-District first team as a receiver, while junior Abram Rodriguez and Gabriel Cisneros were first team All-District Offensive line selections.
Senior, Beto Diaz, was a second team All-District tight end selection, while senior, Garison Bohler, was a second team All-District selection as a receiver.
Defensively, Cisneros was a first was a team defensive line selection, while Diaz was a first team inside linebacker selection and Penrod was a first team outside linebacker selection. Wilson was also a first team defense selection as a safety.
Freshmen, Jaden Conley and Jeremiah Castillo, were both second team defensive line selections, while Cannon was a second team outside linebacker selection and sophomore, Josue Cervera, was a second team inside linebacker selection.
Juniors, Anthony Rodriguez and Michael Limon were second team defensive back selections.
Those earning honorable mention were sophomore linebacker, Drew Can, junior offensive lineman, Eric Munoz and junior tight end, Jordie Bellar.
Academic All-District selections include: Box, Penrod, Wilson, Bellar, Nathan King, Munoz, Rodriguez, Can and Salvador Juarez.
