S-E Lady Wolverines bounce Amherst, 67-5

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team defeated the Amherst Lady Bulldogs at home on Tuesday, 67-5.

With the win, the Lady Wolverines improve to 9-3 overall, 6-0 in district play, while the Lady Bulldogs fall to 0-5 in district play.

Junior, Sayler Beerwinkle, led the Lady Wolverines in scoring with 21 points, to go along with six rebounds, four assists and one steal, while sophomore, Halee Toscano, chipped in 14 points, five rebounds, one assist and eight steals and senior, Carsann Baker, added 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.

Freshman, Taytum Goodman, contributed eight points, three rebounds, three assists and nine steals, while junior, Micaela Fuentes, tallied four points, one rebound, two assists and two steals and freshman, Sydney Fun, chipped in four points, one assist and two steals.

Sophomore, Kani Holmes, tallied three points, three rebounds, five assists and five steals, while junior, Mahalia Delgado, added two points, two rebounds, two assists and three steals and freshman, DD Delgado, added two points and one assist.

The Lady Wolverines will be back in action on Tuesday at home to take on Cotton Center to open the second half of district play. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs hosted Cotton Center on Friday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday with a home game against Lazbuddie. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
