The Olton Fillies’ varsity basketball team’s season came to an end at Caprock High School in Amarillo on Monday night, as they fell to #8 Gruver, 79-28, in the 2A Area round of the play-offs.
The Fillies rallied late in the first quarter to trim the lead to, 23-14, but Gruver outscored the Fillies, 22-5, in quarter number two to take a, 45-19, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Gruver outscored Olton, 16-5, in the third quarter and, 18-4, in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 79-28.
Shaylee Leathers led the team in scoring with 11 points, while Makenly Smith chipped in six points and Kylee Noack contributed five points. Olivia Cox contributed three points, while Dayanara Lara added two points and Celestte Ramirez finished with one point.
