Nettes finish regular season as Co-District Champions

The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team secured a piece of the District Championship on Friday with a blowout victory over the Morton Indians at home, 78-26.

With the win, the Nettes close out the regular season on with a mark of 14-12 overall, 7-1 in district play.

The Nettes jumped out to a, 21-2, lead in the first quarter, and never looked back. They added 20 points in the second frame to take a, 41-11, lead into the locker room at halftime.

They poured in 22 points in the third quarter and 15 points in the final frame, taking the contest, 78-26.

Junior, Addison Boehning, led the team with 20 points, to go along with eight steals, seven rebounds and three assists. She was joined in double-figures scoring by sophomore, Gracyn Shultz, who tallied 12 points, four rebounds, three blocks, two steals and one assist and sophomore, Stevi Lockhart, who fmished with 10 points, seven assists, three steals and three rebounds.

Sophomore, Riley Edens, chipped in nine points, two rebounds, two steals and two blocks, while junior, Sydney Cornelius, contributed six points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal. Senior, Zoey Cantu, notched five points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals, while sophomore, Braelyn Pointer, contribtued five points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Junior, Liz Sital, chipped in four points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal, while sophomore, Kambry Tolbert, tallied four points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals and sophomore, Landree Gonzales, added three points, three rebounds, two assists and one block. Sophomore, Elaine Martinez, fmished with four rebounds and one assist in the contest.
