Mustangs take down Boys Ranch, 66-29

The number 18 ranked Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team took down Boys Ranch on the road on Tuesday, 66-29, to improve to 2-0 in district play.

With the win, the Mustangs improve their overall mark to 17-1.

The Mustangs jumped out to a, 14-5, lead in the opening quarter and they added 19 points in quarter number two to take a, 33-12, going into the locker room at halftime.

The Mustangs poured in 22 points in the third quarter and outscored Boys Ranch, 11-9, in the final frame to take the contest, 66-29.

Chris Urbina led the Mustangs in scoring with 17 points and was joined in double-figures scoring by Jack Allcorn, who tallied 15 points. Bryson Ramage and Jake Soliz, each netted eight points, while Andrew Martinez and Joe Canchola each added five points and Israel Santillan and Aldo Vasquez each finished with four points.

The Mustangs traveled to Farwell on Friday to take on the 15’h ranked Steers. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday with a home game against Bovina.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
