Lady Wolverines take down Amherst, 84-22

The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team bounced the Amherst Lady Bulldogs on Friday, 84-22, to close out the regular season as undefeated district champions.

With the win, the Lady Wolverines fmish the regular season with a mark of 15-4 overall, 12-0 in district play.

Freshman, Taytum Goodman, recorded her 100th assist in the contest, while sophomore, Halee Toscano, collected her 100th steal.

Sophomore, Kani Holmes, led the team with 16 points, four rebounds, five assists, seven steals and one block, while Toscano chipped in 16 points, two rebounds, two assists, four steals and one block and senior, Carsann Baker, contributed 15 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists and six steals.

Junior, Sayler Beerwinkle, tallied 13 points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and one block, while Goodman, notched nine points, six rebounds, seven assists, 10 steals and two blocks. Junior, Micaela Fuentes, chipped in seven points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block, while freshman, Sydney Fun, chipped in four points, five rebounds and two assists.

Junior, Mahalia Delgado, tallied two points, two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block, while freshman, DD Delgado, fmished with two points and two assists.

The Lady Wolverines will have a bye in the first round of the 1A Basketball play-offs and will play the winner of Miami and Valley in the Area round.
