The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team saw their season come to an end on Tuesday night in Floydada, as they fell to the Valley Lady Patriots, 53-41, in the Class 1A Area round of the basketball play-offs.
With the loss, the Lady Wolverines end their season with a mark of 15-5 overall, 12-0 in district play.
The Lady Wolverines jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, 15-13, but the Lady Patriots bounced back in the second quarter and took a, 25-22, lead into the locker room at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Lady Wolverines surged back and took a one-point lead, 37-36, heading into the final quarter of play. But, in the final quarter, Valley ran away with the contest, taking the Area round match-up over Springlake-Earth, 53-41.
