Lady Cats well represented with All-District selections

The Littlefield Lady Cats’ volleyball team was well represented on the All-District team, led by sophomore, Madison McNeese, who was awarded Blocker of the Year for District 3-3A.

‘We have never received this many district honors and I ambeyond proud of our girls,” Head Coach Claire Head said. “With the style of defense that we nm, we put a lot °fix essure on our middles and Libero. Five out of the last six years one ofourLittlefield girls has received Blocker of the year, and it continues to mean a lot to us.”

She added, ‘We have been blessed with smart, athletic middles that completely buy in to what our expectations are and we can continue to center our offense and defense around them.”

Senior captain, Geyah Garza, was a first-team selection as a middle, and she was joinedbyjtmior, Emily Champion, who was a first-team Libero selection, and junior, Danielle Zapata, who was a first-team selection as a setter.

“Mali, Geyah, Danielle and Emily were constants for us and they proved throughout the season that their pi esence was needed at all times,” the coach explained. “Ashtyn and Blynna were two that came in for three rotations and I would catch myselfcounting down to get them back on the floor.”

Junior setter, Bina Ray, and junior outside, Ashtyn Parker, earned Honorable Mention.
