Last night we were at the Littlefield Wildcats first scrimmage of the season against Snyder at Wildcat Stadium, and for the first time since March, things felt a little normal.

Aside from wearing a mask on the sideline and no cheerleaders behind the sideline, being back on the sideline watching the football teams butt heads, was amazing. It also felt like a Friday night, even though it was only Thursday.

It was a lot of fun being back out there and around all the players and coaches. But I think my favorite part of being back out there was looking up in the stands and seeing my boys with Marisa and Nana and Papa.

I would walk over to the fence during timeouts when I was on that side of the field and big man would get so excited and start saying dada, dada, with the biggest smile on his face. Cheekies gets excited too, but by that time he was getting snuggled up in a blanket, because the wind had picked up.

I love being able to have my family at the games with me, the first thing I always try to do once I get situated on the sideline is look up in the stands and try to find where they are, so that I can wave to them during the game.

I’m very grateful to be back out there at games and I really hope we get to see the season play out. These athletes and coaches have worked hard and they as well as all other fall sports deserve to get to play out their season. Only time will tell, but I feel like we are trending in the right direction.

On a side note, my sister gave birth to my second niece, Stella on Friday. I’m very happy for her and her family and can’t wait to meet the newest member of our family. It stinks we can’t all be at the hospital like we normally would, but as long as Olivia and Mike get to be there together, that is all that matters.
