The Amherst Bulldogs’ varsity football team is looking to keep their winning streak alive this week for Homecoming, as they host Wildorado.

The Bulldogs are 3-1 overall entering this week.

Head Coach Daniel Hinojosa talked about the win over Wellman-Union last Friday, saying, “I thought we started out rather slow. We gave up a score right off the back and we weren’t executing on defense and weren’t getting to the ball. We corrected that situation and it got better from there.”

The Coach talked about the matchup with Wildorado this week, saying, “We’re going to have to execute, they are some big boys. They have a good little running back and some big offensive and defensive linemen. We’re going to have to maintain blocks, cut better this week and try and use our quickness to our advantage.”

He talked about how they can slow Wildorado down on Friday, saying, “They have a big offensive line and a good little running back and fullback. They get in the J and it’s tough because they hide behind those big guys, but I think as long as we come out and execute and pursue to the ball and get six helmets to the ball and use our speed to negate their size, I think It will be an outstanding ballgame.”

Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Bulldog Stadium in Amherst.
