Amherst comes up short against Lady Horns, 42-27

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team fell to the Hart Lady Horns, 42-27, in their first meeting of district play.

Hart outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 11-5, in the first quarter, but both teams poured in 10 points in the second frame to make the score, 21-15, in favor of Hart heading into the locker room at halftime.

In the second half, Amherst was outscored, 21-12, as they fell to the Hart Lady Horns, 42-27.

Liz Medrano led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 10 points, while Kat Amalla and Yaz Tones each tallied six points an Dennys Reyes finished with three points Maricella Gonzales added two points in the contest.
