Quite a month is ahead of us. Eschatology, the doctrine of last things, is the focus. Next Sunday, All Saints Day, we recall those who have died in the Lord. We reflect upon how to live is Christ and to die is gain. We leave this world to go to be with the Lord. We are one with the saints (believers in Jesus) of all generations. We think of Christ’s Victory over Death in His bodily resurrection; a victory He shares with all who trust in Him. A victory which assures us of both eternity and bodily resurrection.

Researcher spotlights ‘invisible incentives’ The Texas Enterprise Fund took a hit for lack of transparency in a new research paper from the National Freedom of Information Coalition. The paper by journalist Steve Miller is titled “Invisible Incentives: How Secrecy Impedes Evaluation and Accountability of Economic Development Subsidies.” Part of the paper spotlights the Texas Enterprise Fund, which the Legislature created in 2003 to provide taxpayer money to companies in exchange for the promise of jobs.

Gov. Abbott announces $420 Million to cover costs for Remote Learning

(AUSTIN)—Governor Greg Abbott announced Wednesday, Nov. 18, a $420 million reimbursement program to cover costs incurred by Texas public schools that purchased Wi-Fi hotspots and/or eLearning devices (such as laptops, tablets, and Chromebooks) so students could learn remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
