The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team held off Plains on the road, 69-52, to stretch their winning streak to six games.
With the win the Nettes improve to 6-0 in district play with two games remaining in the regular season.
Sudan jumped out to a, 22-13, lead in the opening frame, before adding 13 points in quarter number two to take a, 35-20, lead into the locker room at halftime.
Both teams tallied 15 points in the third quarter, but in the final frame, Sudan outscored Plains, 19-17, to take the contest, 69-52.
Stevi Lockhart led the team in scoring with 26 points, to go along with four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal, while Addison Boehning tallied 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals and Liz Sital chipped in 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Sydney Cornelius contributed five points, two steals and one rebound, while Braelyn Pointer added five points, two rebounds and one steal and Gracyn Shultz tallied five points, four assists and three rebounds. Riley Edens notched two rebounds, while Landree Gonzales tallied one rebound and one assist and Kambry Tolbert and Elaine Martinez each finished with one rebound apiece.
The Nettes will host Sundown on Friday, as District play continues. They will close out the regular season on Tuesday with a road game against the Morton Maidens.
Both games are scheduled to tipoff at 6:15 p.m.
