Mustangs blast Bovina, 91-38

The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team rode past the Bovina Mustangs, 91-38, on Friday to close out the first half of district play.

With the win, the Mustangs improve to 23-3 overall, 4-0 in district play.

Olton poured in 23 points in the opening quarter, before their offense erupted for 31 points in the second frame to take a, 54-16, lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Mustangs netted 20 points in the third quarter and added 17 points in the fourth quarter to take the contest, 91-38.

Jake Soliz led the team in scoring with 20 points, while Joe Canchola tallied 14 points and Chris Urbina finished with 12 points. Jimmy Munoz, Nathan Urbina and Alex Santillan each notched 11 points, and Andrew Martinez and Nick Casares each finished with six points.

The Mustangs opened the second half of district play
