The Olton Mustangs’ varsity basketball team made it back-to-back district wins on Friday with a home victory over Boys Ranch, 84-26.
With the win, the Mustangs boost their record to 21-3 overall, 2-0 in district play.
Olton held Boys Ranch to 10 points in the first half, while netting 14 points in the first quarter and 20 points in the second quarter to make the score, 34-10, going into the locker room at halftime.
Olton erupted for 31 points to open the second half and added 19 in the fourth quarter to run away with the contest, 84-26.
Andrew Martinez led the team in scoring with a game-high 24 points and was one of five Mustangs in double-figures scoring. Chris Urbina tallied 15 points, while Jake Soliz and Nathan Urbina each added 11 points and Alex Santillan finished with 10 points.
Brennon Huguley chipped in seven points, while Joe Canchola added four points and Jimmy Munoz finished with two points in the contest.
The Mustangs had a huge game with Farwell on Tuesday at home. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday with a road game against Bovina to close out the first half of district play.
Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
