The Springlake-Earth Lady Wolverines’ varsity basketball team took down the Cotton Center Lady Elk on Friday, 56-24, as Head Coach Jeri Been Goodman picked up her 300 th career win.
With the win, the Lady Wolverines improve to 16-7 overall, 7-0 in district play.
Springlake-Earth jumped out to a, 16-4, lead in the first quarter and outscored the Lady Elk, 12-6, in the second frame to take a, 28-10, lead into the locker room at halftime. Cotton Center outscored the Lady Wolverines, 10-9, in the third quarter, but Springlake-Earth closed out the game in the fourth quarter with a 19-point outing to take the contest, 56-24.
Halee Toscano led the team in scoring with 20 points, while Taytum Goodman posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists, and Sayler Beerwinkle added 11 points and seven rebounds. Sydney Furr tallied eight points, and Mahalia Delgado finished with three points in the contest.
The Lady Wolverines traveled to Lazbuddie on Tuesday. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Friday on the road against Hart.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
