The Sudan Nettes’ varsity basketball team took down Sundown, 56-25, to stay unbeaten in District play.
With the win, the Nettes improve to 3-0 in district play.
It was a low-scoring affair in the first quarter, with Sudan clinging to a, 7-3, lead heading into quarter number two. But, the Nettes sparked their offense in the second frame as they poured in 20 points to take a, 27-7, lead into the locker room at halftime.
They kept that momentum going coming out of halftime, as they poured in 22 points in the third quarter to make the score, 49-17, heading into the final quarter of play.
Sundown outscored the Nettes, 8-7, in the fourth quarter, as the Nettes took the contest, 56-25.
Addison Boehning led the team in scoring with a game-high 22 points, to go along with eight rebounds, five steals and three assists. Stevi Lockhart tallied nine points, four rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist, while Liz Sital chipped in, five points, five assists, two steals and one rebound.
Braelyn Pointer contributed five points, three rebounds and three steals, while Gracyn Shultz tallied five points, three assists, two steals and one rebound, and Riley Edens finished with four points, two rebounds and one assist.
Kambry Tolbert chipped in three points, two rebounds and one steal, while Elaine Martinez added two points, two steals and one rebound and Landree Gonzales added one point and one rebound. Sydney Cornelius finished with two rebounds and two steals.
The Nettes were at home on Friday to take on the Morton Maidens. Results were not available at press time. They will continue their season on Tuesday when they host Seagraves.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
